Position Title: Assistant Educational Leader

Compensation Rate:  $50,000 
Reports To: Educational Leader

Supervises: Staff of the Charter School

JOB GOAL:
To assist in the provision of effective instructional leadership for a campus and assist in the management of those activities which contribute to the effectiveness of the total educational program.  

MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
Master’s Degree from an accredited institution; minimum of three years successful teaching experience; two to three years of school administrative experience; certification in Educational Leadership, Administration/Supervision or certification in School Principal (preferred).

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Ability to read, interpret, and enforce State Board Rules, Board of Directors’ Policies,  and State Statues.
Ability to use effective public relations skills.
Ability to analyze data.

To provide instruction, guidance, and support for students from various academic backgrounds, learning objectives, learning activities, and subject area content appropriate for the grade, subject area, and academic level of assignment.

MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited institution in the academic discipline assigned; possesses a current teaching certificate and the necessary academic qualifications for the subject area assigned; must be highly qualified.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Ability to use basic English and spelling techniques.
Ability to understand and instruct written and oral instruction.
Knowledge of academic subject area assigned.

To work with the educational leader to secure and account for effective learning, appropriate achievement, and educational, social, and personal progress of all students in the assigned area of responsibility, which includes the Humanities, Music, Art, Drama/Theatre, and Dance, consistent with the mission and vision of the Charter School and the unique needs of individual students.

MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

To provide general maintenance and upkeep of school facility and grounds, with emphasis on identification and follow-up of general needs of the facility.

MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma; experience in maintaining a physical plant and grounds (preferred).

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
Knowledge of janitorial cleaning supplies, materials, and equipment.
Ability to complete assignments with minimal instructions and follow-up.
Ability to collaboratively work with supervisors and other personnel.
Ability to work independently and to complete assignments.
Ability to work flexible hours when necessary.
Ability to use and recommend equipment for grounds work.
Ability to be exposed to high degrees of heat, dust, mold, and other chemicals to carry out assignments.

Cleans, sanitizes, maintains, and provides for the general maintenance of the facility and grounds.
Cleans and disinfects all areas of the facility.
Maintains all carpets, flooring, and furniture for the facility.
Recognizes, reports, and follow-up on all maintenance problems.
Replenishes and changes all items such as air conditioner filters, light bulbs, restroom supplies, dispensers, etc.
Utilizes various custodial and maintenance techniques for the upkeep of the facility.
Stocks and inventories supplies as necessary.
Assists in securing all areas of the facility on a daily basis.
Identifies safety and security problems when necessary.
Performs related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma; A.A. Degree (preferred);  two to three years experience in a responsible office position; advanced computer skills; bookkeeping skills.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of office practices and procedures.
Ability to use the English language; ability to spell and write business correspondence.
Knowledge of advanced computer skills, including graphics, charts, spreadsheets, forms, and template development.
Ability to exercise independent judgment.
Ability to collaboratively interact with students, school personnel, and the general public.
Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks in stressful situations.
Ability to effectively communicate orally and written.
Ability to self-start.
Ability to communicate the basic policies of the Charter School.

Serves as the employee insurance processing agent.
Maintains payroll reporting activity.
Maintains purchasing activity.
Processes all new employees, employee appointment forms, and personnel transactions.
Monitors and maintains accurate personnel records on all employees.
Ensures compliance with the Board of Directors’ Polices and applicable State Rules.
Receives and routes incoming calls.
Maintains a daily teacher attendance log.
Coordinates the scheduling of substitute teachers.
Handles disgruntled individuals in volatile situations as necessary.
Coordinates and maintains financial records for the Charter School.
Provides information and assistance to students, parents, personnel, and community.
Performs receptionist and some bookkeeping duties as required.
Assists with the preparation, planning, and maintenance of the Charter School’s budget.
Prepares and designs informational flyers; coordinates the production and distribution of materials.
Completes and forwards accident reports of personnel and students.
Completes and processes vacancy requests and applications.
Schedules interviews and notifies for interview appointments as directed.
Maintains a filing system for personnel files, attendance records, lists, and other documents.

High School Diploma; two to three years experience in a responsible office position;   basic computer skills; types at least 35 correct words per minute; valid Florida driver’s license.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of business English; math, and spelling.
Knowledge of elementary accounting and bookkeeping procedures.
Knowledge of record keeping methods, practices, and procedures.
Ability to work independently and carry out assignments with minimum instructions.
Ability to work collaboratively with others.
Knowledge of basic computer skills, including graphics, charts, spreadsheets, forms, and template development.
Ability to type 35 correct words per minute.
Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks in stressful situations.

To be of assistance to an instructional employee with the purpose of providing general instructional support in an assigned subject area that requires general knowledge of curriculum programs, activities, and procedures.  This position assists students with educational and special needs.

MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma; A.A. Degree (preferred); 60 college hours or has passed the Florida Para-Pro Test; one to two years experience in assisting teachers with learning strategies while working with students.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Ability to communicate information both verbally and written.
Knowledge of student discipline and classroom management.
Ability to spell and use basic math.
Ability to use basic office equipment and computer technology.
Ability to input data.
